Hewson demands action on pedestrian safety in Bradford on Avon12.27.44pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 29th Dec 2006
Bradford on Avon Liberal Democrat Councillor Malcolm Hewson has demanded a meeting with County Council officials to "remove the log-jam" that is blocking pedestrian safety measures in the Town Centre. In his letter to the Director of Roads in Wiltshire he says: "Bradford Town Centre is an uncomfortable place to be on foot and yet measures to alleviate the problems have not been forth-coming. There appears to be a reluctance to do anything until plans for Kingston Mill are agreed, but we must surely now move forward with the design of pedestrian crossings in Silver Street and at Knees Corner.".
